Our Story

A grooming studio built on care, patience, and a genuine love for dogs

Klippers Dog Grooming studio
12+ Years of Experience

Klippers Started With a Simple Idea

Klippers Dog Grooming opened in Chisholm, NSW after founder Sarah Mowbray spent years working in veterinary clinics and mobile grooming before deciding she wanted to create a proper, calm studio environment dedicated entirely to dog wellbeing.

The name came from her first professional pair of grooming shears — a pair of vintage clippers she still keeps on her desk. It felt right. Simple, honest, and a little personal.

Today, Klippers operates as a small-team studio. We see a limited number of dogs each day by design — because quality time with each animal matters more to us than volume. Our bookings reflect that philosophy.

Our Core Values

These aren't statements on a wall — they're the reasons behind every decision we make in the studio.

Comfort First

Every technique and scheduling decision is made with the dog's comfort in mind, not convenience.

Transparency

We tell owners exactly what we did during each session — and why. No surprises, no unexplained charges.

Ongoing Learning

Grooming standards evolve. We invest time in continuing education, new techniques, and breed-specific study.

Responsible Practice

From product choices to water usage, we try to make decisions that reflect our responsibility to animals and environment.

Designed Around Dog Wellbeing

The Klippers studio on Skimmer Street was fitted out with dogs in mind from the beginning. Rubber-grip surfaces throughout, non-slip bath areas, reduced ambient noise, and separate waiting and grooming zones all help dogs feel settled from the moment they arrive.

We use a small, contained table setup rather than open floor spaces — this keeps dogs calm and reduces the disorientation that can come from unfamiliar environments. Familiar smells, low lighting in resting areas, and unhurried handling all contribute to a session that's as low-stress as possible.

Our product range is kept deliberately limited to gentle, coat-appropriate formulations. We don't use harsh chemical treatments or fragrances that may irritate sensitive skin.
